DRIVING LESSONS for TEENS (15 ½ to 17 ½ yrs of age)
Private, One-on-One Instruction with convenient pick up and drop off service at your home, school, work, or anywhere else within the service area.
Primo Instructors are patient, supportive and professional. They will gently guide you through all aspects of safe driving; from getting to know the controls of the instruction vehicle to safely navigating the roadways of Los Angeles.
All students must either have a valid learner's permit or driver's license (CA or other US State or Foreign Country). Permits/Licenses must be in the possession of the (student) driver whenever driving and during all lessons.
All students under 17.5 yrs of age are required by the DMV to have at least 6 hours of instruction (3 two-hour lessons).
The DMV requires that all students under 17.5 yrs of age accumulate a minimum of 50 hours of driving practice with a CA licensed adult (25 yrs or older) along with at least 10 hours of night driving over a 6 month period of time before becoming eligible to take the DMV behind the wheel drive test.
We strongly believe that 6 hours of professional instruction is not enough to cover all of the driving skills to become a safe driver. That's why we encourage higher levels of instruction.
The most popular instruction packages include 10 - 12 hours of professional coaching. Students learn not only the basics of driving safely on streets, but also on freeways, canyons, parallel parking, and simulated emergency situations.
Our popular 20 hour package includes all the safe driving skills of the 10 and 12 hour packages. Additionally, it provides the time necessary to create a very solid foundation of predictive situational avoidance, emergency situation simulations and critical thinking skills.
Any professional instruction above the 6 hour minimum may be counted towards the required 50 hours of practice.
Minor drivers must have the following in order to take the DMV road test:
- Learner's Permit signed by instructor and parent
- Minimum 6 hours of professional instruction
- Certificate of completion of behind the wheel instruction
- Minimum 50 hours of practice with CA licensed adult over 25
- Minimum 10 hours of practice at night with CA licensed adult over 25
- Have been practicing with permit for at least 6 months
- Appointment at DMV for the Behind-the-Wheel drive test
